Managing Members
Promote, demote, transfer ownership, or remove members from your Formula Bot team.
Manage your team's membership from the Members tab in team settings. View who's on the team, change roles, and remove members as needed.
Viewing the Member List
Open your team settings and go to the Members tab. You'll see all current members with their:
- Name and email
- Role (Owner, Admin, or Member)
- Date joined
Changing Roles
Only the Owner can change member roles.
To change a role:
- Find the member in the Members tab
- Click the role dropdown next to their name
- Select the new role (Admin or Member)
Available changes:
- Member → Admin — Gives them the ability to manage Members and shared content
- Admin → Member — Removes their management permissions
Transferring Ownership
The Owner can transfer ownership to any other team member. This is a significant action:
- The selected member becomes the new Owner
- The previous Owner is demoted to Admin
- This change is irreversible — only the new Owner can transfer it back
To transfer ownership:
- Go to the Members tab
- Find the member you want to make Owner
- Select Transfer Ownership
- Confirm the transfer
Ownership transfer cannot be undone. The new Owner gains full control of the team, including billing and the ability to remove any member.
Removing Members
- Owners can remove any member (Admins and Members)
- Admins can remove Members only
To remove a member:
- Find the member in the Members tab
- Click Remove
- Confirm the removal
When a member is removed:
- They lose access to the team workspace immediately
- Their team content (chats, files, playbooks) remains accessible to the rest of the team
- Their personal content is unaffected
Leaving a Team
Any non-Owner member can leave a team voluntarily:
- Open team settings
- Click Leave Team
- Confirm
Owners cannot leave — they must transfer ownership first.
