Chat History

Search, favorite, rename, and resume past conversations in Formula Bot. Chat history retention varies by plan from 7 days to unlimited.

Formula Bot saves all your conversations so you can revisit past analyses, continue where you left off, or reference previous insights.

Accessing Chat History

  • Recent - Your most recent conversations
  • Favorites - Chats you've starred for quick access
  • All Chats - Complete history, searchable

Use descriptive names like "Q4 Sales Analysis" or "Website Traffic Review - Jan 2024" to find chats easily later.

  1. Hover over the chat
  2. Click the star icon
  3. Find it later in the Favorites section

Delete a Chat

Remove conversations you no longer need:

  1. Hover over the chat
  2. Click the three-dot menu
  3. Select Delete
  4. Confirm deletion

Deleted chats cannot be recovered. Export important insights before deleting.

Continuing a Conversation

Click any chat in your history to resume it:

  • All previous messages and context are preserved
  • The AI remembers what you discussed
  • Continue asking follow-up questions
  • Your original data sources are re-attached

Conversation Context

Each chat maintains its own context:

  • Data sources attached to the conversation
  • Settings like AI model choice
  • Generated outputs (charts, tables)
  • Conversation history for follow-ups

Starting a new chat creates a fresh context without previous conversation history.

Best Practices

Organize with Purpose

  • Create separate chats for different projects
  • Use one chat for related follow-up questions
  • Start fresh when switching topics completely

Name Strategically

Good naming conventions:

  • [Project] - [Topic] - [Date]
  • Customer Analysis Q4 2024
  • Monthly Revenue Report

Regular Cleanup

  • Delete test chats or failed experiments
  • Archive completed analyses by favoriting
  • Export important insights before deleting old chats
