Connect with Microsoft

Authorize your Power BI account with OAuth, create a personal connector, and sync the workspaces and content available to that user.

Permission-aware access

Formula Bot follows the connected user’s Power BI permissions. Semantic-model queries require Read and Build access and use that user’s security context.

Synced BI catalog

Browse synced workspaces, semantic models, reports, and dashboards. Semantic models are queryable; reports and dashboards are listed as context only.

What You Can Analyze

Semantic Model Analysis

  • Summarize revenue and margin by region
  • Which products drove this quarter’s change?
  • Compare actuals with target by month

Charts & Dashboards

  • Chart the monthly trend from this semantic model

Frequently Asked Questions

Formula Bot runs DAX against Power BI semantic models (datasets) the connected user can read and build against. Synced reports and dashboards are visible as metadata but are not queried directly.
Yes. A Power BI administrator must enable Semantic Model Execute Queries REST API under Tenant settings → Integration settings. The setting was previously named Dataset Execute Queries REST API.
Not in this release. Power BI connectors are personal because delegated OAuth and row-level security reflect the connected user’s identity. Each user must connect Power BI in their personal workspace.
Power BI limits each execute-queries request to 100,000 rows, 1,000,000 values, and 15 MB. Formula Bot uses filtered or aggregated DAX and asks you to narrow results that exceed those limits.
